If you like whisky or want to try.. this is the place to go, with over 580 on offer from £2.50 a nip to £100 a nip. Athletic arms, More commonly known by the people of Edinburgh as Diggers. Its located between two graveyards and was frequented by the gravediggers, propping their spades on the bar after a long day of burying the dead.

Love this place. Proper 'old man' vibe - with great selection of whisky (they still pour good 35ml measure here) and classic local beers.

Known locally by its' original name 'The Diggers', this is a traditional Victorian pub with high ceilings, big windows and is well lit with old-style lighting and comfy seats. They have an excellent range of beers and claim to serve the best traditional pies (snacks) of any pub in Edinburgh. (The large tv screens play sporting events with the sound off - very genteel). WHISKY! Best of all is their whisky collection, offering hundreds of choices and with a special selection of a few dozen whiskies at only £2.50 for a full size Scottish dram. That's a lot less than half the price for similar whiskies on the Royal Mile or even in the pubs on islands like Islay!

Locally known as 'The Diggers'. Go here if you want an authentic Scottish pub experience. Extremely lively on days that there is a local (Heart of Midlothian) football match.

They have over 40 whisky's to choose from for 2.5£ for 35cl! Also serving classic local ales like 70 shillings etc. This is a proper pub!
