Whitewater rafting at Deerfield River with four courses ranging from I-II, to III-IV. Or at Millers River. This is a LOT of fun. Kids too if age 15+. A 90 minute drive away, and a beautiful drive at that! Allow time before to go to village of Shelburne Falls. Have breakfast/lunch at 'Baked' [closes at 2, opens at 9]. Walk the Bridge of Flowers. Visit artisanal and antique shops. You might even want to get an overnight place and make a few days of the adventure. Consider Zoar Outdoor Adventure Resort as alternative or in addition: kayak rentals, bicycling. 2056 Mohawk Trail, Shelburne Falls, MA 01370 for Monroe Bridge section of river, Classes III-IV. Call for location for your trip.
