Captain Karl and his wife Sandra hands down provide the best sailing experience on MDI. You can choose from a private charter or shared trip in the morning, afternoon, or at sunset. Sail Acadia boasts sailing on historic Maine-built Friendship Sloops, which are single-masted boats originally used for lobstering. A totally different (better) experience than larger sailboats. Just trust me on this one, you won’t be disappointed! Check out their website for other boating experiences they offer.

This is a great way to see Acadia from the water. You can sail on a friendship sloop which leaves right out of Southwest Harbor and takes about 6 people out at a time. Several trips available per day.
