Adventures at Hillcrest Cottage

Relax and recharge in the secluded garden hot tub at this charming 1900s farm cottage and take in charming country views. Soak up the contemporary, Scandinavian-style interiors, then toast marshmallows around the fire pit under the stars. This cozy 920 SF home is a perfect getaway to unwind, located just two hours from Manhattan. Hillcrest Cottage is nicely appointed in a minimal yet comfortable Scandinavian style with country accents. It offers the right amount of disconnect like a country house should be but still offers some stapes such as WiFi and cell reception. The open plan living room, dining room and kitchen are oriented toward the quiet country road overlooking the rolling farmland and pond beyond. The design aficionado will appreciate the use of space and selection of décor throughout the house. The shared bathroom is located downstairs and has a bath/shower. Follow the stairs up through a map-lined hallway to find two tidy, whitewashed bedrooms -- one queen and one full. There's also a pullout sofa that can accommodate two extra guests or family members. Back outside, enjoy the evening fireside while lounging in the Adirondack chairs, telling stories all night and roasting marshmallows for smores. On a chilly evening, take a dip in the new 6 person hot tub and relax while you stargaze. Pro tip: turn off all the lights to see the band of Milky Way stars. Weather permitting, enjoy a meal outdoors on the picnic table. Or grab a glass of wine, spin some records and then head out for a dinner you won't soon forget at the nearby North Branch Inn. You have full reign of the place during your stay. We ask that you limit going down to the basement only as necessary. Feel free to use the backyard and picnic table, grill, outdoor toys for croquet. Please be cautious of nature as ticks and poison ivy can lurk around the premise. For use of the hot tub please abide by our rules. We will try to be available by email, text or Airbnb chat. The cottage is very close to antique stores in Bethel, Livingston Manor, Narrowsburg, Jeffersonville, Callicoon, and Liberty. Try horseback riding or river tubing, or visit alpaca farms, farmers' markets, and local restaurants. Check out the guidebook for some of our favorite recommendations! The cottage is in Sullivan County close to State Roads 52 and 17 — both off of I87 with easy access from NYC. Having a car will be ideal for your trip. An option for friends or family coming later from the city there is a new bus service called Catskill Carriage that takes you directly from NYC to Callicoon! If you're looking for a getaway for a larger group of people, the neighboring property (300 feet away) is also listed on Airbnb, called Mertle Farm which can hold 6 guests in 3 bedrooms. This is separately owned and you'll have to check to see if their availability aligns with yours. Just search "Obernburg, NY" to find it on Airbnb.

The stars are incredible, so as you sit on the balcony or at the fire pit look up. Crow Hill is located on a quiet road away from the bustle of town. The wifi is moderate due to the location, so it allows you to unplug. Crow Hill is dog friendly ( no cats) and perfect for a family getaway. The cabin is deep cleaned and sanitized between guests. Come take a break!
