You'll meet up with me and then follow me in a short drive to the trailhead. Once we park there is a short easy hike (about a half mile each way, part on roads, part on a dirt trail) before we climb down to the creek. The climb down is very steep and slippery. It is rock climbing just steep enough to not need gear. If you like bouldering you'll love this place. If you are afraid of heights this may be challenging for you. You will need shoes with good grip and both hands available to climb down the rock cliff. The creek is a beautiful place to relax for an hour or two surrounded by the woods and the sounds of birds chirping and running water and nature to help you feel peaceful and restful. In the spring and early summer you can swim! Best months to swim are May and June. In the fall and winter you can just explore and play and absorb some nature. It is beautiful year round. Throughout the experience I'll teach you about the local plants and animals :) I take candid and posed photos of you that I will send you after the hike. We provide customized rock climbing trips in Joshua Tree National Park from first time beginners to experienced climbers. Our guides will meet at Quail Springs Picnic Area BACK parking lot (by the BATHROOMS) in Joshua Tree National Park and outfit you with a harness, helmet and rock climbing shoes. You will also be provided you an overview of the trip then select a climbing location best suited to match your experience and ability. Once we are all done with that, we will stay at Quail Springs Picnic Area or caravan deeper into the Park. When we get to the climbing site, we will teach you how to belay a climber and manage the climbing rope. You will also learn safety checks and verbal commands used in rock climbing. Depending on the size of your group, we can add rappelling to your trip. When you book a rock climbing adventure, you will experience the world-class climbing in Joshua Tree National Park. Even before you enter the gate the Llamas will be checking you out, the goats will cry out a welcome. When you enter their corral you might be wary of their size, and you will be amazed at their speed as they run around to show off their long strides. After they run for you, we will show you how to hold the llama pellets in your hand as the llamas use their oddly soft pillowy-lips to pick up the pellets. The llamas love the pellets so enjoy, and pet them. Once the LLamas have eaten all the pellets, we will introduce you to our six goats and our six other llamas by spreading hay for the llamas to graze on and everything becomes peaceful and silent. You hear the wind in the trees, the call of the quail, the gentle sound of hay being mashed into cud. When you look up you notice you are surrounded by the desert, the Sawtooth and Joshua Tree mountains to the South, the ancient volcanic Black Mesa to the West, and Johnson valley stretching endlessly North. Throughout this experience your hosts will educate you on all things llama, in addition snap as many photos of you so you when you aren't taking them yourself. In the intimate setting of my High Desert home, we will explore the hidden messages that dwell within the Tarot. A Tarot card reading is a form of cartomancy whereby practitioners use Tarot cards to gain insight into the past, present or future. Guests will start by drinking a cup of Ceremonial Cacao. Cacao energetically is a heart-opener allowing access to deeper states of emotional and spiritual information. It also contains the neurotransmitters, serotonin, tryptophan and dopamine, which assists with feelings of well-being. This should allow a space of calm, relaxation and further insight to envelope the participants so we can move gently into the Tarot reading. I will then guide you through a gentle mediation to assist you in finding a question pertaining to a situation or circumstance that you may seek further clarity on. Then you the guest will formulate this question and I will then draw five cards in a traditional spread and interpret their meanings and symbology. This experience should be interactive, fun and informative.

This 2-hour experience allows each guest to pick from a variety of pre-made pots. Horsehair "Raku" during the experience uses a technique of applying horsehair, feathers, and/or sawdust to red hot pots. The carbon in these items transfer suddenly to the pot and are permanent. This method is eye-popping and amazing. Any age can do it. I recommend children be at least 10 and able to be respectful to other guests. I am sometimes a little corny, but very capable of sharing the How-To's, mixed with some history and other uses of clay. I am very good at coaching, and helping guest achieve a decorated raku pot that they are excited to take home. This is the kind of experience that will be fondly remembered for a lifetime.

You’ll visit our little farm and experience the morning routine with the animals. After being welcomed joyfully by our two dogs, Casper the Husky and Lola the Great Pyrenees, we'll meet at the outdoor kitchen. You’ll arrive just in time for the animals' breakfast, they will be waiting for you to feed and pet them! Starting with Tagada the horse and Carambar the donkey. (They will need to be brushed as well!) Next, we will walk over to the enclosure of the exotic birds. With prepared food and fresh vegetables from the garden, you’ll feed Charles and Diana the amazing peacocks, Popeye the astonishing turkey, and the two dozen rare chickens (Pompadour, Dubarry, Mary, Scarlet, Frida…) You will personally hand-feed them and gather their eggs, find out about the different breeds and learn fun facts about their origins. Then you’ll enter the barn to discover the world of our 26 sweet and gentle goats! You may scratch the heads of the adults and hold the babies (depending on the season). A perfect time for photographs! All the while I’ll explain how the Farm came to be, the sustainability of our practices, and how each species was found and rescued. Your visit will end with light refreshments and tastings of our goods.

I would love for you to join me on a Big Bear local's fall colors hike! I'll meet my guests at one of a few different scenic autumn colors areas. In October & November the fall colors are just so epic throughout the Big Bear Valley. I love to share my favorite secret trails with visitors, along with some Big Bear history & tales of what life in Big Bear is like. Wherever the fall colors are peaking on that particular day, I will lead you up the leave-covered trail & into the oak forest where you can trek through the fall colors. Most of these hikes do go uphill so it's not classified as an easy hike but if you are a beginning hiker or have kids joining us we can hike at a slow pace; Whatever pace you prefer, after all, it is your hiking experience. All these trails have amazing views of Big Bear Lake as you climb higher into the forest. We will hike as many or as few miles as you would like. I will show you a few other great photo opportunities along the way. If you wish to bring dogs on this hike, please do! There is so much unique nature for children and families to experience in Big Bear Lake. Take a family-friendly walk with me into the woods of Big Bear & let me teach you & your family about our native plants & the history of the Big Bear Valley. We might visit sacred Serrano Indian sites or even munch on wild plants we see growing on the trailside. I will tell you and your family stories about the animals who live in this forest, even showing your children animal tracks, owl pellets and if we see any butterflies I will teach your children the secrets to taking the best photos. I love sharing my knowledge of this wilderness with young guests to Big Bear. As an outdoor enthusiast, I have so many tales to entertain families about our local Big Bear wildlife. Did you ever wonder about what might be the edible plants on the trails of Big Bear? I will teach your family about any edible plants we might come across in the forest. I feel like getting kids interested in nature when they are young is a great way to influence future generations of outdoor lovers. Big Bear Lake is a great alpine area to learn about our local plants & animals. All of my experiences are dog-friendly. I am a Leave No Trace hiker and kindly request my guests pick up after their pets. This is a great experience for groups and team building.

Let me share my wild passion for all things sourdough and how you can easily incorporate these skills in your very own home. (PRIVATE GLUTEN FREE booking available, must advise 48 hrs before) I will walk you through the basic steps for maintaining a sourdough starter, baker's ratios, hand mixing dough, bulk fermenting, shaping, scoring and baking your very own loaf. With three simple ingredients: organic flour, salt and water, we will create a mouth watering treat you can take home and enjoy at the end of your experience! Never buy bread at the store again!
