Heart of the city. You can see for miles from it. The Forth bridges, The Pentland Hills, Calton Hill, Corstorphine Hill, and every other historic landscape Edinburgh has to offer. It can be expensive, but worth a visit.

They are all interesting in their own right. The Museum of Childhood is situated half way up, as is The City Chambers, which has underground tunnels and passages, suitable for ghost tours. It is a brilliant day/evening out for the whpe family
