The original mas (Catalan manor house) dates back to the 14th century, and has been converted into a luxurious vacation home with modern comforts. Surrounded by the meadows and hillsides of the Gavarres mountain range, Mas Torroella offers a peaceful setting within easy reach of Costa Brava attractions. The mature gardens feature manicured lawns, a heated swimming pool, tennis court, and a large outdoor dining area with barbecue. There’s also an impressive list of indoor facilities, including a private spa area, complete with a heated pool, whirlpool spa, Finnish sauna and fitness room. Mas Torroella is notable for its space and character. The main villa is spread across three floors, and the vaulted ceilings and original stone walls are coupled with modern furnishings and contemporary artworks to create an exceptional space. The large kitchen is fully equipped for all your catering needs. Guest will have no trouble finding a quiet corner to themselves, between the villa’s many rooms, including a snooker room, fireplace room and library. Across the courtyard, the inviting 2-bedroom Caseta is comfortably equipped for a family, with its own open-plan living, kitchen and dining area, fireplace and terrace. Each of the main villa’s eight individually-named suites has its own distinct flavor. Menta features an ornate vaulted ceiling and a private exterior terrace, while Lavanda is the perfect space for children, with its two sets of bunk beds and two single beds. Rustic stone walls and minimalist furnishings characterize Fonoll and Romani suites. All come with air-conditioning and private ensuite bathrooms. Mas Torroella is ideally placed for exploring the charming resort towns of the Costa Brava, and its many hidden coves and beaches – the nearest is just a 10-minute drive. For golf lovers, the nearest course is a similar distance away.
