Elephants

This is a fantastic rescue center for retired and mistreated elephants and currently runs in nine locations around Thailand. Along with providing tourists with the opportunity to spend quality time with these beautiful creatures in their natural habitat, the centers aim to raise awareness and educate people about elephant care and the importance of protecting this species, whilst rescuing and caring for as many elephants as possible; with the aim of protecting remaining habitats and preserving the Thai elephant population. Due to the Sanctuary's mission there is absolutely no elephant riding here - a practice that causes long-term damage to the elephant, and often involves cruelty to get the elephant to conform. There is not a bull-hook to be seen at the Sanctuary; these elephants are free and choose to interact with the staff and tourists because they want to as they are shown respect, love and affection here.

Bang Saray is a peaceful fishing village, about a 20-minute drive from Pattaya, which has maintained its natural charm and has a very laid back and friendly community. The village boasts a lovely, spotless sandy beach with serene turquoise waters, which is rarely busy and offers excellent opportunities for relaxing, having a barbecue on the beach and sampling fresh food from the beach vendors. In the village you will find local shops, convenience stores, restaurants, beauty salons, massage parlours and motorbike taxi's. There are a few Thai style karaoke bars and several sea food restaurants by the piers where you can sample their fresh produce. You can also find local markets in the village offering delicious fresh fruit, vegetables and seafood.
Pattaya has a 4 km stretch of bustling beach offering numerous water sport activities, including scuba diving, wind surfing, banana boating, parasailing, jet skiing and deep-sea fishing to name a few. Trips to the nearby islands, including the scenic island of Koh Larn (Coral Island) are also available from here. Being floodlit at night the beach can be enjoyed at any time! Along the beach you will find large umbrellas and beach chairs, offering you shade from the hot sun, and areas to relax and enjoy food and drinks served to your tables from the beach vendors. The northern part of Pattaya Beach is the quietest area, and the beach gets busier as you head south, with more beach chairs, vendors and sports activities.

Cosy Beach is one of the finest beaches in Pattaya, being a very clean and well-maintained area of golden sand. It is situated in a tranquil bay in Pratumnak, a prime spot for tourists and expats, between Pattaya and Jomtien. The beach is accessible via steps down a cliff side, and you can expect a lovely peaceful atmosphere here. You can find sun loungers and umbrellas here for some shade, and enjoy food and drink on the beach served by vendors of the local restaurants, however you will not get hassled by as many beach vendors here as you would on other beaches in Pattaya, and there are no water sports, so this allows you to relax in peace! There are several restaurants, markets and massage stalls in the area, and the backdrop of wooded cliff offers spectacular scenic views.
