Local circular walk

There’s a local walk from the house towards Llanarmon-yn-Ial village, then turn left in the village and follow the signs to a bridle path that takes you past the beautiful Gweryd Lakes, and then follow the road (once you get to get end of the bridle path) uphill towards llandegla and either follow a left hand footpath to get back towards the house- or if cycling simply keep on the road until you reach a crossroads to go left back towards the house. If you need more details I can show you in an OS map. We often take our horses up there and it’s a lovely spot

This is a great place for walks and cycle routes through the Forrest and there’s a nice lake at the top. Steep climb in places though if you are parking at the bottom lay-by- so if you want an easier route then you can park up in the cycle car park, just follow the brown signs up to it. They have a lovely cafe up there too! I can show you or give directions if you want to know more info

Dolgellau is an old granite town- I used to live there so I am biased and think it’s one of the nicest areas to visit in snowdonia. The town is an hour drive away, great for a day trip. There’s Cader Idris or Diffwys mountains to climb which are my favourites, and cregennan lakes which is a local beauty spot.

Food scene

The Raven is a community pub and very friendly. Home cooked food and reasonably priced. It’s just 4 minutes away in the car or a 15minute walk down the road.
