Beach
Our nearest beach is Dawlish Warren beach (20 min drive) which is a lovely long sandy beach with a nature reserve at the rear on the dunes.
There is ample parking with a fun fair park, go-karts, cafes, pub and kiosks at the car park base. It can get busy around the shops and kiosk area but if you are willing to walk a little way along the beach there is always plenty of space. We have a small dog, so we always go along to groyne 3 or beyond (dog friendly bit) and that takes us about 10 min
walk with all out bags and picnic. I’ve never felt crowded at that part of the beach!
You can also get to the beach by walking through the nature reserve from the car park rather than along the promenade so avoiding the crowds altogether if you wish.

Walks and trails for all ages and abilities and home to "the South West's highest waterfall". The waterfall is man-made but no less spectacular with an interesting local history.
