Within walking distance to downtown Santa Fe, this HISTORIC REAL adobe house is the epitome of Santa Fe charm. It provides a comfortable home away from home for you to explore what this great historic city has to offer.

The unit is perfectly located for visitors on Don Gaspar Avenue within walking distance to the Plaza, the Railyard, Canyon Rd. and HALF A BLOCK from the State CAPITOL ROTUNDA.

The apartment is a territorial adobe set in a HISTORICAL house built when Santa Fe was a part of Mexico in the mid 1800's and retains many original features. My family has lived in this property since 1952. This REAL adobe unit is cool in the Summer and warm in the Winter.

The apartment comprises a large open plan front room, one bedroom with a small separate 3/4 en-suite bathroom suitable for a single person with a separate shower. A small full bathroom with a historical bathtub is accessible through the corridor/hallway with shelving. The front room has a comfortable additional bed, made of a Shikibuton trifold foam mattresses, which can be also be transformed into two twin beds or a king size bed.

The small kitchen contains a stove and a clothes washer/dryer. The dining room is in the adjacent room. The kitchen/dining room has full amenities with a table for 4. There is another table in the front room in front of two large windows which can be used for dining as well or as a work space.

The apartment can comfortably accommodate 4 people with the full bathroom in the adjoining corridor. This vacation rental is better suited for a single person, couple or small family.

This unit is listed as a separate one for fewer people or can be combined with my other listing as an entire, whole house for larger parties or more space. (Please see my other listings on the same house property on my profile page by clicking twice on my name.) This apartment is NOT available when the entire house is rented and visa versa.

Don Gaspar Ave. is located in one of the best and most beautiful neighborhoods in old Santa Fe. It is also one of the safest places to live. Bandelier once resided in this house until he built a bigger one on Canyon Road. In the sixties, only families occupied the homes on this street, which was near schools, shopping, etc. Now the block is in a commercial district, which means it is near where the action is on weekdays and quiet on the weekends.

Born and bred in Santa Fe, my family has been here since 1598. I'm a retired teacher, a licensed massage therapist and esthetician. I'm trilingual, fluent in Spanish and German as well. My husband, Eduard, was an attorney from Munich, Germany. I am very knowledgeable about the local history and can offer guided historical tours of Santa Fe. I also run a mini-spa on the property. As a native Santa Fean, I can provide any information on dining, shopping, local attractions, events and local history you may need. I can provide guided historical tours of downtown Santa Fe as well. I love to interact with my guests and would be happy to give you a tour around town. We could have coffee or lunch together or share beer/wine on our patio with my German husband, Eduard, when available. Just ask me a.s.a.p. when you arrive or before, so I can plan for it ahead of time.
Also, I give my guests who prefer privacy -- space, but we are here in the separate apartment upstairs when needed.
By the way, on most Tuesdays, our dance teacher, Laurie, has a RUMBA/salsa/flamenco class upstairs at our place at 5:30pm and charges only $10. You are all welcome to join us for the hour class‼️ (Classes are not available during the Covid-19 pandemic.)
