Trek up an urban volcano with a sober travel specialist

Get your heart rate up with fellow nondrinkers and sober-curious folks on this 2.5-hour guided trek up Mount Tabor, Portland’s magnificent (extinct) volcano. Relax and enjoy a non-alcoholic drink at the summit, and connect with other sober adventurers with a love of the outdoors. • We’ll meet at a coffee house to grab a coffee or tea and introduce ourselves. • Next, the group will hike to the top of Mount Tabor. Create your own Pacific Northwest-inspired formula that relaxes your spirit while traveling, in meditation, during stressful times or just when you need to take a moment to breathe and reset. Forage for edible plants next to Latourell Falls

Latourell Falls, located in the Columbia Gorge, is a wonderful place to learn about the landscape and plants of the Pacific Northwest. Join a wilderness educator and forager as we visit this dramatic waterfall, sampling wild edible plants along the route. • We’ll meet at Guy W. Talbot State Park Picnic Area and then walk up the trail to Latourell Falls, which was formed by ancient volcanic activity. • As we move up the canyon, I’ll share stories about the history and ecology of the area and point out native edible plants. • We’ll explore both the base of the falls, taking in the stunning views of the waterfall from multiple angles. You’ll leave with a greater appreciation of the Pacific Northwest and a newfound knowledge of Oregon’s native plants. Note: Please note that this experience begins at the Guy W. Talbot Picnic Area in the tiny town of Latourell, NOT at the historic highway trailhead a short distance away. We’ll explore cutting methods, composition, and minimalist design, drawing inspiration from Portland’s iconography and your own experiences in the city. We will be meeting at the beautiful makerspace and shop Makerspace Sellwood in Portland, Oregon. • Begin by looking at my collages and discussing techniques, from selecting source material to layering and composition. Choose from a selection of maps, travel guides, local magazines, and vintage photos to craft a piece that reflects your time in Portland. • Chat about the places you’ve explored, using conversation to inspire image selection. I’ll offer guidance and feedback as you piece together your collage, encouraging a collaborative and engaging creative space. • All materials are provided, along with tea or kombucha to enjoy as we create. We’ll wrap up by sharing our finished work, reflecting on the creative process, and taking home a one-of-a-kind collage that captures your Portland experience.

Multnomah Falls Columbia Gorge Waterfall Tour to Six Falls

We’re experiencing the best of the Columbia River Gorge on this waterfall tour. I’ll pick you up in Downtown Portland (or you can meet us at our Gresham location closer to the Waterfalls) and we’ll explore under the basalt cliffs in our big window van as we hop out to explore 6 waterfalls with short hikes. Get big views of the Columbia River Gorge throughout the route and especially at the Crown Point Vista House where we see the gorge lit at the golden hour on our nightly sunset tours. The experience is fun for anyone who loves beautiful views and waterfalls. Stops: Horsetail Falls Multnomah Falls Wahkeena Falls Bridal Veil Falls Shepperds Dell Latourell Falls Crown Point Vista House This is an active tour, of the 3.5 hours you'll be in the bus for less than an hour and exploring the beautiful parks surrounding the waterfalls for most of the tour. Downtown Portland pick up available at all Downtown and Convention Center hotels. You can uber or transit to one even if you're not staying there. Immersive Chinese tea experience in a private tea house

Immersive tea tasting in our little tea house, featuring different tabletop flower arrangements and aromatherapy every week!. There will be Chinese style tea art demonstrations and on certain holidays Guzheng ( Chinese musical instrument) performances. Guests will choose between black tea, oolong tea, yellow tea, green tea, dark tea and scented teas from China at different tea tasting times. I have been in touch with tea since I was 10 years of age and it has always been a part of my life. I am a landscape architect and an enthusiastic tea artist. After I moved to America, my partner and husband Joseph singlehandedly built the tea house for me, according to my design. Everything including the slab table was made by Joseph over a period of two years. Now I would like to share with others this tea house full of love energy and my love of Chinese tea, the etiquette of drinking tea and interesting stories of China. Preserve foods with a cookbook author

During this interactive session I’ll teach you the basics of canning and preserving. You’ll learn how to water-bath and can delicious local produce in new and unique combinations. I’ll also teach you how to make brine, pack your jars properly, sterilize equipment, and ensure that your produce is properly sealed. Of course, we’ll take breaks to enjoy some local snacks and taste some hot sauces, made right here. You’ll get to take home your own jar of the canned creation to share with friends and family. Grilling with Chef Steve

With me, Chef Steven, you'll be cooking and eating some of the very best grilled food of your life! You'll begin by learning about preparation methods for various proteins (brining, dry rub, marinating) to ensure juicy, flavorful results. Then you'll learn how to pair sauces with your proteins to further enhance their flavor. And to close out the evening, we'll make the entire meal on the grill for you to enjoy! I focus the class on the science and the "why" behind grilling techniques. You'll learn my "Golden Seven" rules for perfectly grilled proteins, and tips for searing and smoking like a pro! While the weather in Portland can be unpredictable, our grilling patio is completely covered and we have outdoor heaters if the grill isn't keeping us warm enough! We will hold the class regardless of weather. (Alternate class times, private parties or parties of greater than 10 can be accommodated by contacting the Chef directly.) I can also come to you! If you've booked an AirBNB in the Portland area (up to 60 miles away) that has a grill, I can come teach the class at your location! I also do private chef parties, catering and events. Aerial Tour of Oregon's Famous Waterfalls

**Please note that this is a 35-40 minute (approximate) experience** Join me on an aerial adventures of Oregon’s Columbia River Gorge. The Gorge is a treasure for most living in or near Portland, and on this 35-40 minute flight (approximate) through the “Gorge”, you will see exactly why that is. Plus, you'll understand why it is one of the most visited and photographed natural areas in the Pacific Northwest. The Gorge is home to dozens of cascading waterfalls, and on this tour you’ll fly ast Multnomah Falls, Latourell Falls and Horsetail Falls, hundreds of miles of hiking trails, and see why this is an outdoor paradise for millions every year. On the ground it's a breathtaking place, but from the air, it’s unbelievable...plus there are no crowds, and sometimes that can be a HUGE plus. :) Once you arrive we will introduce ourselves and discuss the safety of our experience, grab a free drink, and take a quick bathroom break for the first 15 minutes or so then load up the plane! Afterwards we will take off on a 35-40 minute flight (approximate)! Other things to note: • We fly year-round, rain or shine (as long as it's safe), hot or cold, so please dress accordingly…and be sure to bring a camera :) • Group weight limit can not exceed 600 pounds • Flight times are approximate and may vary based on different factors

Learn to Bake Homemade Bread!

We'll start out at my house for espresso & homemade whole-grain toast that uses locally-grown and milled flour. Next we'll get to mixing and baking your own loaves. You will leave with a vigorous sourdough starter, plus a loaf of whole-grain, naturally-leavened bread. Not only that, but you'll have the knowledge to go home and start making your own bread regularly! While we wait for your bread to rise, we'll visit some of Portland's best bakeries. This is a lesson and tour in one. Check out @1000bitesofbread on Instagram. Other things to note Arrange transportation to and from my house, but I will provide complimentary transportation to the bakeries we will visit. We'll have breakfast together and there will be plenty of snacks.

Stunning Air Tour Over Portland, Oregon

**Please note that this is a 20 minute (approximate) experience** People love coming to Portland for the donuts, the food, and whatever else makes Portland, Portland. We get it...it can be a fun place. But what about an air tour? Well, you’re in luck, because that’s what we do! Once you arrive for your flight, you’ll be greeted by the pilot and discuss the safety of our experience, grab a free drink, and take a quick bathroom break for the first 15 minutes or so then load up the plane! Afterwards we will head out on a 20 minute flight tour (approximate) above Portland, Oregon! Throughout the flight, we'll do our part to make Portland one of your favorite cities– it's certainly one of ours, but then again, we're biased! On this tour you'll get awesome views of Mount Hood (in the distance to the east), the Willamette River, the city, and whatever else you can spot along the way. Enjoy a nice aerial stroll above the Willamette River, the urban landscape of Downtown, and more of the special landmarks that make Portland such a unique place.
