Book one of the many courses in sailing, kayaking or paddle boarding, or hire kayaks or rowing boats for a few hours on the water - we've done this and kayaked down to enjoy a bite to eat and a drink outside the Turf Locks pub. 35 minute drive away.

Exeter is home to England’s oldest ship canal (built in the 1560s) which is still navigable by boat and idea for canoeing and kayaking – or if you fancy something a bit different, paddle boarding! Taking things at this slower pace means you can explore the flora and fauna of the river valley park as you head towards the waterside Double Locks pub for refreshments. Don’t worry if you have never done it before – experienced trainers are available to help you at Haven Banks Outdoor Education Centre.
