Porthmadog is a harbour town situated on the Glaslyn Estuary, rich in maritime history. It has craft shops, ice cream parlours, cafes, restaurants, supermarkets, and outdoor and camping suppliers. The town was named after W.A. Maddocks whose ambitious "Cob" embankment scheme led to the town's name, which translates as "Madog's Port". In times gone by, it was a vital, busy shipping port for the international slate trade, brought down from Blaenau Ffestiniog.

A great town similar to Barmouth with lots of unique shops, pubs and restaurants and one of the oldest harbours in Wales.

1 mile away, Tesco, Aldi, Lidl, Wilkos. Butchers, bakers, greengrocers, Restaurants, coffee shops, icecream, independent shops. A lovely harbour (conservation) area

Porthmadog has the local supermarkets and various shops. There is a lovely little harbour and the Cob is great to walk along with breathtaking views.

3 supermarkets (Lidl, Aldi, Tesco), several restaurants, pubs, souvenir and antique shops. Harbour good for crab fishing with slipway to launch boats. Terminus of Ffestiniog and Welsh Highland Railways
