Situated high in the ancient Cambrian Mountains, the Silver Mountain Experience offers an exciting and fun day out for the whole family, involving mysterious forests and long abandoned mine workings. Features of the attraction include the Black Chasm, regarded as the scariest underground experience in Wales, where creatures from your worst nightmares dwell in the darkness! Those of a nervous disposition beware. For younger members of the family try the magical Woo Hoo Wood and explore the tunnels where the Grovels live. There is also fun to be had in the Silver River play area. Visitors can also go down a real 18th-century silver mine on the Miners Trail and gain a fascinating insight into mining life of the time. The trail begins with the Silver Mine exhibition. The Silver Mountain Experience is also ideal for schools or group visits, with friendly and knowledgeable guides on hand to answer questions. Be aware that the temperature in the mine can be very chilly, at any time of year, so it is a good idea to have warm clothing as well as stout footwear.
