Woodworking - Create a Pen Using a Lathe
Have you ever been interested in woodworking but never had the tools to try it out? In this 2.5 hour workshop, you will learn how to make a pen from a block of wood, by turning it on a wood lathe. The class will start out by reviewing basic safety for working with the machines and the tools. I will demonstrate each step in great detail before giving you the opportunity to try it out on your own. Wood, a pen kit, and finishing materials will be provided to each participant to make one slim-style pen. Absolutely no prior experience is required and is suitable for ages 10+. You will leave this experience with a hand-made treasure that will last you a lifetime!
Wilderness Survival Skills Clinic
Set among the beautiful redwoods of the Santa Cruz Mountains, the 1-Day Wilderness Skills clinic is a great way to escape the hustle-and-bustle of the week and get back to nature! Our trained instructors – expert survivalists and naturalists – are excited to share these ancient skills with you. Learning these timeless traditions, such as shelter building and fire-by-friction helps to build self-esteem and awareness from knowing YOU CAN SURVIVE! This class is 100% hands-on and appropriate for all ages, but the pace is geared towards teens and adults (children 12 & under must be accompanied by an adult). Everything you learn, you will do! Be prepared for your next wilderness adventure by practicing these timeless skills. You WILL build a shelter, you WILL make fire, you WILL learn about edible plants, see and learn about primitive traps, and experience several other original human skills. This class is about getting back to the earth, learning how ancient peoples lived in harmony with our planet, and experiencing nature to its fullest. Make Japanese mochi with an instructor
In this fun class, you will learn how to make three different mochi dishes. First we will make fresh mochi with a choice of fillings: sweet red bean and fresh strawberries, peanut butter and chocolate mini cups, nutella, and others. Second, we will make the popular ice cream mochi with mini-scooped ice cream balls. Your choice of ice cream. I like green tea ice cream. Third, we will bake mochi donuts and then glaze them beautifully with vanilla, clear, or chocolate glaze. You and other guests will enjoy making and shaping the mochi dough, filling it with delicious fillings, and eating them with others. You will get to enjoy fresh and tasty mochi, and best of all you will know how to make delicious mochi dishes far into the future. Other things to note: Please feel free to bring any additional ingredients you would like to fill your mochi with (peanut butter, mango, etc...)

History Driving Tour of Silicon Valley High Tech Companies
This is a tailored experience for technology lovers to explain Silicon Valley history visit 4 landmarks. Join us and be a Geek for a Day! During the drive, we'll explain companies history, fun-facts and we will answer your most geeky questions. Visits are: 1- F-A-C-E-B-O-O-K headquarters to see the artistic complex, the new campus expansion, and take pictures. 2- Computer History Museum (CHM) home to the largest collection of computing artifacts in the world. Allow 1 hour and possibly snack or lunch at their Bistro. 3- G-O-O-G-L-E-plex and the Statues Garden: A must visit for the geek in you, take pictures with the androids, Allow 20 minutes. 4- ApplePark Visitor Center is the Apple campus, with a view of the new RING/Spaceship building . Allow 45 minutes for the Augmented Reality view of the Spaceship Campus, the Store and Caffe. All stops are from the outside, areas open to the public. We don't have special access inside, but we tell you insider stories as experienced by being local and passionate about technology. Note about G-O-O-G-L-E-plex: On the weekends, you can go between the buildings & ride the bicycles, but the store is closed. On the Weekdays, the opposite is true. Note: No flash photography at the CHM, no outside food/drinks and no backpacks. CHM food, drinks and museum store. This is a driving and walking Silicon Valley guided tour.
Make Ramen and Dumplings with a Japanese Chef
In this fun and very hands-on class, you will learn and get hands-on with making ramen noodles from scratch, vegetarian-friendly soy miso ramen broth from scratch, make gyoza dumpling filling from scratch, pinch and pleat your gyoza wrappers by hand. You won't miss out on any part of the cooking process, as we will prepare everything together. First, we will make the gyoza dumpling filling, and fill and pleat our gyoza dumplings. Next, you will get to mix, roll out, and cut your own ramen noodles. Finally, we will make the soup together, and enjoy our ramen with delicious seasonal toppings as well as our deliciously fresh gyoza dumplings. We love private parties and have done team building for businesses! Other things to note: The ramen broth and noodles are vegetarian-friendly—however, the gyoza contains meat and we will have a meat (chashu) and veggie toppings available for the ramen. Delicious for vegetarians and meat-eaters alike, but not vegan-friendly (the ramen noodles contain eggs). Homemade ramen eggs and other toppings will be available for topping the ramen.
Learn How to Make Korean Kimchi
Upon arrival, you will sign in and have Korean tea while everyone is arriving. Next comes the fun part in making fresh handmade kimchi. As I demonstrate, we will get into teams (depending on the number of people) were we will chop various vegetables for the kimchi and make the sauce. During the process, I will also show a demonstration of how to make Korean Japchae (a dish that pairs well with kimchi). As we work, you will also be able to taste along prepare your own kimchi in your jar(s). We will conclude with a tasting your own handmade kimchi with a complimentary meal of rice, soup, and japchae. Yum!
Outdoor Rock Climbing - Bay Area
If you are brand new to climbing and/or have started in the gym with indoor climbing, this class is for you! Discover what outdoor rock climbing is all about in this 4-hour group clinic designed for the beginning rock climber. No climbing experience is necessary. We will get you up on your first climbs. Additionally, we’ll share the sense of adventure that drives our guides’ passion for the sport, and provide you with the most enjoyable first day of climbing possible. We’ll begin with an introduction to climbing gear, climbing commands, and climber tie-in knots. Then we’ll spend the remainder of our time climbing with your instructor belying you and coaching you through each climb on technique and route selection. This class is a great opportunity to get exposure to outdoor climbing in a safe, supportive, fun and nurturing environment. We’ll take care of setting up the ropes and providing a positive learning experience for the beginning rock climber. You get to explore what it’s all about! This is a group class (not a private experience) - maximum 5 climbers per guide guaranteed. Other things to note Please arrive 20 minutes early to park. This is a group class, we cannot hold up other participants for late parties. Arriving late is the same as a no-show and will forfeit your registration.

I have built a reputation for creating an upbeat class atmosphere, designing fun and effective training programs, and going above and beyond to make sure my students learn the skills needed to do archery safely and enjoyably. During my coaching career, I have demonstrated dedication, drive, and skill while coaching individuals and teams. It’s truly satisfying to witness how my coaching has grown my students’ curiosity of archery into a passion for the sport. My ultimate goal is to have my students experience how archery can improve their lives and themselves by refining character, building discipline, and enduring challenges. Archery is a continuous learning journey.
Lapidary skills- learn to polish stones
This is a class to introduce you to the lapidary arts. To start, you get to look through our bin of rock slabs and select the perfect one for you. There’s a wide variety of colors and rock types available to choose from. Choose the best shape to cut. Learn the safety aspects of using saws and grinding wheels before you actually begin to utilize them yourself. Under the watch of your instructor you will go through the steps to create a beautiful cabochon of your own. We will even give you a finding for instant jewelry or you might just want to have a pocket rock. At the end you will be hooked on this art and will find a lapidary shop in your own town. Other things to note This is a noisy and dirty hobby. We will provide you with aprons, safety glasses and ear plugs.
Perfect pastas
Taking a broad, flour and water, we will learn how to make typical pasta together with you. We will cook it according to my grandmother's traditional recipe, with fresh tomatoes. Step by step, we will cook our pasta over a glass of fine wine. I'll show you how to split the dough and pull out noodles. We will also make several dressings in addition and enjoy our delicious pasta together.

Life With Farm Animals At Rancho Roben Rescues
We will begin at the red barn where you will learn about this 12 acre sanctuary and the stories behind the 100+ rescue farm animals living on it. From there we will explore three different pastures that include horses, goats, sheep, pigs, chickens, ducks, dogs, cats and a goose. While you are here we are thrilled to guide you through an up-close experience with all of these amazing creatures while they roam freely. Many of these animals will walk right up to you to take a snack from your hand or allow you take a close-up photo with them! During your 90+ minute visit, you will: -meet a tiny rooster -groom a pony -give a belly rub to a pig -feed a snack to a goat -stroll through the hills where our livestock guardian dogs work -take pictures with a sheep (or any of the other animals) -explore our garden orchard -learn about composting (with worms) Throughout your experience you will hear stories about the animals and get answers to your questions about how we give the love and care required for all of these farm animals. We will finish with a discussion about how you can incorporate different aspects of farm life into your living space, be it on the balcony of a tiny apartment or in a sprawling suburban backyard. Build the Dreamy Worlds of Books
A minimum of 3 participants is required to build a team. To promote team activity and have a smooth experience time, each team will build one miniature book world collaboratively. Complicated works becomes uncomplicated with a great team! You will remember the 3 benefits of being a team: - Speed Speed Speed = Time x Motivation to complete the work - Excellence Results: Different perspectives, different backgrounds, different experiences lead to a much better result - Team Fraternity: Yes, Fraternity! The most important culture and feeling a team should have! This is a creative craft work that will be a hands-on experience and fun time with your family and friends. An excellent experience for team building activities and engagement. You will be guided step by step through the assembly process by your professional teacher. At the end of the experience, the miniature book world will be gifted to the winner of the Kahoot game. The game's questions revolve around sustainability and positive impact on the environment.
