Just a 3 min drive from the house is Ashumet Holly Wildlife Sanctuary. At the heart of Ashumet Holly is an eight-acre coastal plain pond, considered a globally rare natural community attracting over 30 species of dragonflies and rare pondshore wildflowers.

If you are looking for a place to relax by the water, you don’t need to go too far as there are a few ponds you could drive to:
-Ashumet pond, just a 2 min drive away; that allows boat/kayak access with no permit requirement.
-John’s pond(need a permit) - one of the larger pond beaches 5 min drive away, in Mashpee that has plenty of room for all sorts of fun and games such as volleyball or throwing a football around. There’s also plenty of room for a beachgoer’s favorite pastime: suntanning. This is also a great place for kayaking and swimming.

Located in Falmouth, this lighthouse is ~ a 20 min drive from the Little Ranch. As you turn into the road leading to the lighthouse you are struck by the beautiful view of the ocean to your right. The lighthouse is on a hill to the left. The view from the lighthouse is gorgeous and a great place to take pictures.
