The nearest decent pub is The Dolphin, its warm and welcoming a traditional real ale pub. It’s a 10-min walk, just turn left at the roundabout and walk up the road, it’s just before the Fire Station on the right.

Right on the river and by the Shrewsbury Quarry (park) a very popular place when the suns out but all year round it’s a great pub and does excellent food. And a good starting point for a night out.

A great little bar, always a good atmosphere, the Brooklyn Larger is great but sneaks up on you! :)

Great night spot, amazing selection of cocktails, really funky bar, great theme and always a good atmosphere. Most weekends they have a good selection of house and tech house music playing with live DJs

Great food and staff at this restaurant, this is more of a night out location, you can have a nice meal in the restaurant and walk through to the nightclub C21 if the mood takes you later. There is also a sushi restaurant upstairs if you want to give that a try instead.

I have used this take away pizza place for the last 20 years! Great pizza and delivery service. They are located by the train station so If I’m wobbling back from town, or just ordering in I’ll nearly always go with an Al Pics. 01743 358133

Parks & Nature
The Quarry is the main recreational park in Shrewsbury, the county town of Shropshire, England. The park was created in 1719 and encompasses 29 acres. You can get to the Quarry along the river toe path from my house, its a nice walk and will take 45mins to an hour depending on how fast you walk.

Haughmond Hill is a small, shallow hill. It is covered by woodland for the most part, i run to the top of haughmand from my house follwing the canal path its a really nice run of teh beaten track, its 3.5 miles to the top. Or you can do a nice 10km to the base and back.

The wrekin is a nice walk, its steep! but at a gentle pace its a good walk only 2 miles, plus halfway up you have the halfway house, the perfect place to get a bacon butty, a nice cup of tea or an ice cream during a walk up the Wrekin. You can't walk here from my house! you have to drive, but i drive over to the wrekin to run up and down it. You can actaully go to the top, back down the other side and the back over in the reverse, thats about 5 miles.
