The Cosy Club in Exeter opened in April 2013 and is located on the ground floor of the old Dean Clarke Hospital’s Halford Wing in Southernhay. Entering through what was the hospital’s chapel entrance you arrive into a large, theatrical space with high ceilings and striking ‘institutional’ features. The building is split down the middle with the bar to your left as you enter and the restaurant filling the right hand side of the building. There’s also a terrace cantilevered off the back of the building where you’ll be able to enjoy the sunshine during the summer months. Cosy Club Exeter takes the meaning of the word ‘quirky’ to a different level; the bar is inspired by an operating table and is illuminated with surgical lighting whilst the walls are adorned with oil paintings, taxidermy, anatomical charts, and Eastern Bloc propaganda. Added to which is the usual eclectic mix of reclaimed furniture, opulent Victorian lampshades and original 1960’s Concorde hangar lights and there you have it. Oh, and if you’re feeling fancy, why not dine in ‘The Snug’, a Victorian tarot card reader's inspired room which can seat up to 14 people. There’s nothing quite like the Cosy Club in Exeter, or even Devon for that matter, that is for sure. A bit of knife and fork… The Cosy Club’s menu majors on comfort food classics as well as offering an extensive brunch menu served until 5pm, a decent variety of sandwiches, and a great selection of tapas. Whatever the occasion, we’ll have something delicious enough to tickle your fancy. We’re always cooking up a storm and launching new dishes as well as keeping our Cosy Club favourites. Don’t forget to ask your server for a Kid’s Menu. We’re proud to be able to offer flexibility with a full gluten free and full vegan menu to cater for all. Please take a look at the menus below, we find it hard to recommend as everything is so scrumptious! Pass the Port… Whatever your tipple the Cosy Club aims to please. You can expect great coffee (and cake), an eclectic soft drinks selection (award winning actually), a fantastic selection of draught beer/cider/ale (which our clubs source locally where possible), a compact list of decent plonk, a nicely proportioned list of creative and classic cocktails and a cracking back bar to boot. Whatever your needs, we’ve got it covered. Cosy Club also hold a variety of wonderful events, visit www.cosyclub.co.uk/whats-on to find out more.

Pho is small and informal yet serves great value, deliciously healthy and authentically prepared Vietnamese food! Pho is the national dish of Vietnam but there’s much more to it than just a meal. It is a soul food, the street food and a source of national pride. At Pho it’s kept simple. The short menu means they can specialize in a small number of Vietnamese street foods, as well as ensuring everything is made fresh in house every day. All the dishes are flavoured with Asian spices and brimmed with herbs. Additionally, as the noodles are rice noodles the majority of the menu is wheat free, gluten free, dairy free and very low in fat. If you pass on the noodles it’s carb free too. Pho is never boring. Once you’ve chosen from the menu, you determine the final taste at the table by the extent to which you garnish your meal with the fresh herbs and sauces it’s served with – it’s up to you

The Galley is a charming seafood restaurant in historical Topsham, overlooking the River Exe estuary. From these surrounding waters comes the freshest, much sought-after fish and seafood. With such a bountiful larder of Devon’s coast and countryside, the family-run team proudly serves the very best of Devon on a plate. For over 30 years, The Galley has been welcoming guests with fish and shellfish caught on dayboats that pass the shores daily. Head Chef, Jason Mead lets the produce speak for itself, letting natural flavours shine through. Dishes are intense, clean and immaculately presented. Now into their 10th year, Maître D’, Nigel Mitchell has guided the helm. Previously at The Seafood Restaurant alongside Rick Stein, Nigel understands the nuances of what makes hospitality great. It is his knowledge, charm and care that leaves you feeling better than when you went in, possibly helped along by the carefully selected wine list. With brine in the blood, as Head Waiter his son Patrick is equally passionate about seafood and brings dishes to life as he works the restaurant floor.
