Join me, a food writer, for an in-depth tour of Fitzroy and Collingwood, two of Melbourne’s hippest neighbourhoods, where I’ll introduce you to the best of the city’s eclectic inner north. Be sure to arrive hungry, as there will be plenty of opportunities to grab artisan snacks to eat throughout the tour. • We’ll start at INI, one of my favourite Melbourne coffee spots, known for their chic interior, excellent coffee, and alternative lattes. • Next, we’ll walk along Smith Street, one of Melbourne’s most historic and diverse retail and entertainment strips. I’ll tell you about the area’s history, and more. You’ll learn about some of my favourite nearby places to eat, drink, and shop at. • We’ll stop in at two of Collingwood’s best bakeries, Falco, and Dua Bakehouse, where you can stock up on some of Melbourne’s best baked goods. • After this, we’ll turn onto Johnston Street, and cross into Fitzroy. You’ll learn more about the area, and I’ll show you some street art and tell you about the area’s artistic aspects. • Finally, we’ll head onto Brunswick Street, finishing at the Punter’s Club, one of Melbourne’s best classic Aussie pubs. If it’s a Saturday tour, you’ll also get a chance to explore two nearby markets. At the end of the tour, I’ll give you a list of the places that we visited, along with several other recommendations in the area should you wish to explore more.

From Melbourne to Yarra Valley Wine, Gin and Chocolate Tour

We have over 1,000 5 Star Reviews 8.40am - Meet on the front steps of 'The Ian Potter Centre: NGV Australia' FLINDERS STREET. Directly opposite 154 Flinders Street, for a 9am departure 10am - Soumah of Yarra Valley for a wine tasting of red and white wines. Learn how the cool climate allows this winery to specialize in styles and varieties typical to northern Italy and southeastern France, such as Chardonnay and Pinot Noir 11am - Four Pillars Gin Distillery for a gin paddle. Pick your choice of mixer to help wash down the four samples of gin they give you OR 11am - Payten and Jones for a wine tasting if gin isn't your thing. This is a 10 second walk from Four Pillars, so we can easily split the group in two here depending on your preference 12.15pm - Lunch at Quarters @ Hubert Estate where you buy your own food and drink. (This gives you more choice on what to have for your lunch). Look around their indigenous art gallery in the basement under their cellar door. If you have your own food, you can eat it somewhere away from Hubert Estate Grounds, or head to the restaurant to buy yourself a drink 2pm - Yarra Valley Chocolaterie for a fantastic talk and private tasting session and grab free chocolate samples and buy yourself a scoop of gelato 3pm - Balgownie Estate for a guided wine tasting with a view 3.55pm - Leave Yarra Valley 5.10pm - Arrive back at Federation Square.

Cruise the Bay in a 1956 Chevrolet

This one is close to home and is a great way to see Melbourne from the water’s edge! Getting straight into it, this tour hits the sights immediately upon departing central Melbourne with a crossing of the Yarra River, a slow pass along the Royal Botanic Gardens drive then a lap around Melbourne’s F1 GP, Albert Park Lake, and a cruise along St. Kilda’s Fitzroy Street to the water. From there it is all vision and vistas as we head down the famous Beach Road for stops at Brighton’s bathing boxes, Green Point and the charming Cerberus Beach House for ice cream and tea or coffee at Half Moon Bay. Coming back the tour stops for photos at St. Kilda Pier then a final cruise up to Port Melbourne. Tour completion can be made to the CBD, Carlton or even the Royal Botanic Gardens. Stops will see me relive previous life as a photographer, with a gallery of pics available at the end. Your party of four can be collected from out front of the Princess Theatre for a private tour driven by your d’Luxe host, John Frostell – local Chevrolet enthusiast and drive-to location expert. In the Yarra Valley, ‘east’ means ‘feast’ with indulgences including wine, dairy, fine food, chocolate, brewery ales, gin … and much more! The picturesque Yarra Valley is a short drive east of Melbourne and is the most popular get-away destination from the city and suburbs. It is known primarily as wine territory, with more than 50 vineyards and wineries in the area, but there is much to enjoy on top of this … all from the comfort, coolness and curiosity factor of one of our classic Chevrolets. The tour begins with city pick-up and a drive east to picturesque rural backroads with a quick morning tea and coffee stop. From there select wine tastings from a range of winery options presented according to individual preferences and tastes. Then perhaps a boutique gin flight experience at Four Pillars Distillery before heading to Healesville for lunch, where numerous food opportunities are on offer. Continuing with ‘cruise’ style driving through the area’s centre the tour stops at the Yarra Valley Dairy or Chocolaterie for refreshments before heading back to the city. Yarra Valley Gourmet Food Wine & Gin Tour From Melbourne

You will be picked up at 8:15 am in our bus from the Ian Potter Centre Federation Square and whisked away to the picturesque Yarra Valley. The drive to the Yarra Valley will highlight some amazing scenery, wildlife, kangaroos, stunning homes and rolling vineyards. First stop - Guided fruit tasting at Yarra Farm Fresh (strawberry farm), before heading for a guided chocolate tasting at YV Chocolaterie. Our third stop is Tokar Estate for a guided wine tasting overlooking the rolling hills of the Yarra Valley. The next stop is Rochford Wines. A guided tasting of 4 wines awaits followed by lunch in the restaurant. Lunch options - a la carte ($30-45pp) OR wine tour menu (main course, sides + gls of wine $50 pp) After lunch you will be able to opt in to a gin tasting at the Rochford Gin Bar (not included in price....+$25.00 pp). You will be guided through 3 locally distilled gins that have been infused with wine. Our last location will see you learn about the intricate ways Yarra Valley wines are produced by the expert cellar door staff at St Huberts Estate. You will be guided through 4 premium wines and receive a bottle of wine to take home. Afterwards you will be given time to explore the hidden Indigenous Australian art gallery before heading back to the city. We will arrive back in the CBD for 4:45 pm.
