About Us

Casa da Avó has a history dating back to over 100 years. The whole state comprises the main house, where Isabel, the villa's owner, has set her residence, The Upper House (Casa de Cima), The Wooden House (Casa de Madeira) and The White House (Casa Branca).
Vale da Silva Villas, where the houses are located, is set in a beautiful rural farm area 15 minutes from the city of Aveiro, known as the Venice of Portugal, where you can enjoy gondola trips through its various straits.
Aveiro offers numerous activities alongside its stunning sandy beaches such as surfing, kite surfing, sailing and fitness. It also has a great night life and shopping areas such as Forum Aveiro set above one of the main channels of the city.
The city of Aveiro is also a short drive to the wine regions of Bairrada and Douro, known worldwide for its Port wine.
Each house can accommodate from 4 to 6 people and is fully equipped, apart from the Tree House that only accommodates 2 people. All guests have access to a swimming pool (people from the Wooden house can use it also) and stables.
The spaces are ideal for holidays and weekends.
We have created a restful retreat, so you can feel as in your home away from home whilst on holidays in Portugal.

I adore travelling and I do not imagine myself living away from Vale da Silva!
At our farm we have several animals. The majority of them are in the farm fields, but cats and sometimes dogs walk freely near some of the houses- They are all very kind and are vaccinated .
If you are alergic or do not like animals, please think twice before booking!
My husband and I and our kids are who built the houses almost all in wood.
My husband is a police officer but loves to cook (happily!) and is he who does it at our restaurant farm Casa da Sogra Rural Food Truck
