Your campsite, Boo’s Hideout, has a 134 sq ft canvas glamping tent standing over eight feet tall. Included are two twin beds with full linens & blankets, fire pit, picnic table, charcoal grill, solar charger, and a great view of the highest peak in Texas.

It is part of an 11 acre offgrid desert campground called The Guad located just west of Guadalupe Mountains NP. The Guad offers millions of stars, beautiful sunsets, a chance to relax, and close proximity to tons of great hikes.

INCLUDED AS PART OF YOUR STAY:

- 134 sq ft canvas glamping tent: Tent stands over 8 feet tall with headroom to walk around freely inside.
- Two twin beds: Full linens included (Two pillows, sheets, comforter, & blanket on each bed)
- Two sleeping bags and four extra blankets
- Stone fire pit with four folding chairs: Bring your own firewood and make sure any coals are fully extinguished.
- Wooden picnic table
- Charcoal grill: Bring your own charcoal and any cooking utensils.
- Solar panel for charging devices: Just plug your charger cord into the USB port on the solar panel and put it in the sun. It will start charging instantly.
- Electric Lantern: You can recharge it using the solar panel if it runs out of juice.
- Domed Outhouse Bathroom: Instead of a porta potty, we have a compost toilet that offers a better experience. You just sit down, do your business, and then sprinkle a layer of wood chips (in a can directly next to toilet) over it to cover. Outhouse is cleaned daily. **Check my reviews if concerned**
- Also included in Outhouse are a handwashing station, sanitizer, kleenex, toilet paper, paper towels, hand wipes, and a mirror.
- Solar lights guiding walkways and perimeter of campsite.
- Cell coverage: We may be in the desert wilderness, but you'll still have surprisingly good service out here.
- A great view of Guadalupe Peak, the highest peak in Texas.
- Millions of stars
- A chance to slow down, relax, enjoy the moment and do something adventurous.

NOT INCLUDED AS PART OF YOUR STAY:

- Electricity: No air conditioning, heaters, or charging devices overnight.
- Running Water: No showers.

Far West Texas has a distinct feel to it. It’s a special part of our nation. The land is rugged and beautiful. The distances are great. The people are rebels and wanderers and independent thinkers. There are no chains or corporations out here. It’s the American frontier. If you haven’t experienced it, you might not even realize places like this still exist. And that’s why it’s great.

The Guad is situated just west of Guadalupe Mountains NP. As far as I can tell, it is the closest private place to stay to the national park. The property is eleven acres of desert terrain with a variety of cactus, creosote and mesquite and some slight rolling elevation change throughout.

I created a guidebook that I recommend checking out that has recommendations on hikes and food in the area.

We are 10 miles south of the tiny farm town of Dell City, TX. Two T's makes a good burger and fries as well as some small gas station type items (beer, ice, sodas, candy, etc.) There are a few other restaurants and a couple places to get gas.

But you’ll need to come out here with plenty of food and water. You can’t just pick things up around here like you’re used to.

I opened my first offgrid campground near Big Bend National Park a couple years back and am excited to now bring the first glamping-style campground to the Guadalupe Mountains National Park area.

This stuff is my life. By staying a night or two at The Guad (@TheGuadCampground), you're directly supporting my dreams. I hope it provides a unique experience for you. This area has a whole lot to offer.
