After a fun-packed day on the lake, fishing or boating, unwind on our upper deck as you watch and hear the water lap up on the shore with a refreshing drink in hand. Or are you just getting back from an invigorating day on the slopes? Relax those muscles in our lower-deck hot tub, gazing at the stars in the winter sky above! You get the best of the lake and the mountain in this dog-friendly hidden gem! Imagine evenings enjoying the mountain breeze as you roast marshmallows in our fire pit! Or cozy up in front of the gas fireplace in our open-concept great room that allows everyone to be together. Fish and swim from our private dock or use it to moor your own boat or jet-skis. Witness spectacular sunrises as you take an early morning paddle with our kayaks and 2-person canoe. Enjoy a well-lit, private work space with high-speed internet to facilitate your virtual work needs. A real wood CRIB and 2 pack and plays are provided too! Plus, we offer an OUTDOOR MOVIE EXPERIENCE for all our guests to make for the best vacay EVER! NOTE: All Wheel Drive cars/suvs are necessary in winter months due to steep driveway.

As you step through the front door of this 2,860 square foot home, you are immediately drawn to the beautiful sight of trees framing the lake through the gable windows and two sliding glass doors! It’s at this moment you know your much-needed vacation has officially begun! The first thing you'll want to do is go out on the spacious deck, smell the breeze and gaze down at the large lake frontage and just take in the moment. Look up and you'll see the beautiful tree tops swaying overhead, which you know will offer tranquil evenings and dining experiences for your stay. No need to unpack yet, just grab a cold one, sit back on the chaise lounge and listen to the sounds of the lake and mountain. You may hear others boating on the lake, the rustling of the wind through the trees, birds chirping overhead or, just silence. But hold on - in all this listening, you're starting to hear your tummy growling as you imagine the hamburgers, steaks, chicken and veggies you can cook on the propane grill you see on the deck!

Before you head back inside, you notice the private dock that's ready for mooring your boat or jet ski, fishing or just taking a plunge in the lake! You also notice the TWO kayaks and one canoe ready for you to explore the lake (a very rare amenity for guests in a vacation rental). Naturally, we have two child sized and two adult sized life-vests for your safety. Then, looking below at the lower deck and back patio, there's the modern fire pit area which will be a place to reminisce, tell stories, and perhaps a few jokes around the fire with those you love most. But wait, there's more - a hot tub, situated perfectly on the far end of the lower deck under the stars. As you relax in the hot tub at the end of your day, you'll be delighted to see so many stars in the mountain sky for a truly peaceful experience. Also with the lower deck you have a shady place to escape the sun, a beautiful site for a modern dining experience, cozy string lights and an outdoor ping pong table for fun during the spring, summer and fall!

Now walk inside, or should we say, walk back in time and “make the scene”. You'll be "On Cloud 9” and feeling pretty “hip” as you take in the “pad”. The open floor plan living space is modern and “radioactive” with a rustic flare! But never fear, there's no '50s era “boob tube” here! The 65-inch smart TV with HD, Cable, DVR, ESPN, and Disney+ will be perfect to catch up on your favorite flicks after a long day on the lake or on the mountain. Or turn on some “sounds” with our record player (complete with a variety of vinyl records to enjoy) which is Bluetooth-enabled to play your own playlists from your devices! Plus, it also plays CDs and cassette tapes. The gas fireplace adds a warm and cozy feel that you can enjoy any time of year. Oh, and did I mention we have high-speed internet and central air-conditioning too? Mad Men has nothing on us! Does Mad Men have a hanging hammock chair? I think not! Your teenagers will have a ball taking selfies in that chair! (Don’t lie, you will too!) You won’t want to “put an egg in your shoe and beat it” here! The only place you'll want to put an egg is in one of the "pots N pans" in the fully equipped, open-concept kitchen! You'll appreciate the upscale GE Café Stainless steel appliances and gas range! We also offer a Microwave, Traditional Coffee Maker, Keurig, Toaster, Mixer, and Crock-Pot, all ready for you!

Your teenagers won't know where to take their selfies first, in front of the custom modern geometric wall design or in the hanging chair! Both are signature Mad Men Vacations Homes designs. Before you know it, you're going to hear the kids running round the house checking out all our themed bedrooms. On the first floor, discover the Wisp Ski Master Suite featuring a Sterns and Foster king mattress. Complete with an en-suite bathroom with a luxurious free standing soaker tub and a separate shower. With its walk-in closet, flat screen TV and beautiful views of the lake, this is the perfect space for those who don’t want to have to traipse up and down the stairs. THIS ROOM ALSO FEATURES ONE OF TWO ERGONOMIC WORK STATIONS THAT WE OFFER AT MAD MEN LAKE HOUSE THAT CAN BE MOVED AROUND THE ROOM, HOUSE OR OUTSIDE ON THE DECK ON ITS WHEELS. BEST OF ALL IT CAN CONVERT TO A STANDING DESK AS WELL TO KEEP YOU COMFORTABLE AND BACK ACHE FREE! Guests tell us this is a game-changer for business travelers and couples looking for a work-from-anywhere mountain getaway or staycation. THIS IS ALSO PERFECT FOR FAMILIES THAT HAVE CHILDREN DOING VIRTUAL SCHOOL OR HOME SCHOOL. AND OF COURSE IT'S A HUGE HELP FOR PARENTS NEEDING TO VIRTUAL WORK FOR A FEW DAYS WHILE ON VACATION. WITH AMPLE LIGHT, YOU'LL BE ABLE TO FOCUS, STAY ORGANIZED AND GET YOUR WORK DONE SO YOU CAN DO WHAT YOU REALLY CAME TO DO, PLAY!

Also, on the first floor we have our “Camp Mad Men” room with a "tree house" bed and a bright forest scene on the surrounding walls that will help the kids imagine themselves camping in the woods. Lastly on this floor is our modern take on a fishing-themed room. Decorated with vintage fishing tackle, this room offers a Tempur-Pedic queen bed and fantastic lake view. The sliding glass door in this room not only provides plenty of fresh air and light but also easy access to the deck!

Downstairs you'll find another master suite that has a romantic forest theme, a beautiful view of the lake and a comfy Tempur-Pedic king-sized bed. The sliding glass door provides easy access to the lower deck and patio and brings in tranquil light from the sun. Attached to this bedrooms is a private suite bathroom with standing shower. Also, downstairs is our 5th bedroom with a stunning lake view featuring a king sized Purple Mattress! This room is our modern take on a "Canoe on the Lake" room and has the closest and easiest access to the hot tub! But the hot tub doesn't interfere with the amazing lake view as the sliding glass door opens to the back patio deck. The 6th and final bedroom in Mad Men Lake House is our modern take on the quintessential "Cabin in the Mountains" room with red and black plaid accents! This room features a Sealy Posturepedic king-sized bed and pictures of bears and deer, OH MY! Downstairs also offers an extra bathroom with standing shower for convenience!

Last but certainly not least is our retro, groovy game room! This is an experience you won't want to miss! The custom, 70's inspired, wrap around "SUPERGRAPHIC" wall mural sets the stage for the "far out" and "funky" game room experience you've never had before. The "outta sight", vintage Preway/Malm free standing electric fireplace sets the mood for some "good vibes" as you get ready to place some "fab" billiards, skee-ball (electronics dont work on the skee ball) and air hockey! The authentic, orange retro couches are the perfect spot to "chill out " as you watch the 55 inch smart TV. Complete with a wet bar and a bright teal, vintage styled drink fridge that offers all the space and storage you need to "do your friends/family a solid" and mix the best retro Sidecar, Gin Rickey or Gimlet! Can you dig it?! You jivin' yet?! Right on!! And as you sip your drink of choice, don't forget to look out the two large sliding glass doors to the glistening lake views! You'll most definitely be posting on Facebook, Instagram and Tik-Tok AND texting all your friends & family "HERE'S THE SKINNY... MAD MEN LAKE HOUSE IS THE JOINT! TO THE MAX!" And of course you'd end your post/text with "Peace Out!" :)

Carved in the quiet mountains of western Maryland, Deep Creek Lake is a unique, four-season destination. Deep Creek Lake is the largest inland body of water in the state of Maryland, covering approximately 3,900 acres and having 69 miles of shoreline. The mountain climate, usually about 10 degrees cooler than the rest of Maryland, gives our area four distinct seasons with plenty of adventure and action for each. Summer days are filled with sunshine and shimmering water as boats, jet-skis and other water-goers glide across the waters. Deep Creek Lake is a fisherman's paradise, abundant with native and stocked fish, including large and smallmouth bass, northern pike, walleye, trout, yellow perch and sunfish. The current Maryland state records for bluegill, northern pike and yellow perch were all caught in Deep Creek Lake. Come winter, the higher elevated landscape is covered in a brilliant white blanket, providing amazing skiing conditions for Wisp Ski Resort. Winter anglers can ply their skill at ice fishing! This mountainous, wooded area boasts several of Maryland's most popular state parks which offer beautiful hiking and snow-shoeing trails, a large sandy beach for swimming on the lake, or gazing at the tallest free-falling waterfall in Maryland. We're also just upstream from the famous Youghiogheny River, well-known for mind-blowing white-water rafting trips.

Mad Men Lake House is located in the prestigious "Waterside at Wisp" resort community and the name says it all. Less than 2 miles down the road from the region's best skiing at Wisp Ski Resort, we're also a lake front property with all the advantages of waterside living. It's truly the best location in all of Deep Creek Lake for your vacation! Of course, there are an assortment of restaurants and bars only a few miles away for those time you want to venture out for a night on the town!

Here is our story:

My husband and I LOVED to travel around but once we had twins, we couldn't go gallivanting around so easily! As a stay at home mom I wanted to do something from home to help our family and always dreamed of having a vacation rental at the beach, at the lake and down south! We took a huge risk and went for our dreams at our first beloved vacation location in Ocean City, Maryland. I had no idea how much I would love it and how passionate I would become giving guests an amazing vacation experience (I cry often when I read the reviews!). This love and passion took us to Kissimmee, Florida and then finally to Deep Creek Lake, Maryland to complete our vacation rental trifecta! Our goal and hope is that all our amazing guests can trust us to give them the best experiences at the beach, in the mountains/on the lake AND on their Disney vacations again and again! Repeat guests become family to us and there is nothing we treasure more and nothing means more to us than our repeat guests!

Our family motto is "first things first". For our family that means God first, then family, then friends and then rest!
