The property was built in 1897 and was the town Police Station and is know locally as the The Auldnick. It has gone through several changes over the years but has been a family home for the last 30 years. It has been renovated to provide the letting bedrooms with WC and Shower facilities and most recently 2 rooms which were cells at one time have been knocked into one to create a garden room with patio doors over looking the garden. The house has been has been tastefully decorated throughout.

Coffee and Tea making facilities will be available in the rooms along with televisions. Beds will have duvets and additional blankets can be provided if the guest feel cold.

There are 3 coffee shops, 4 pubs, 4 restaurants, 2 supermarkets, 2 pharmacies, newsagent/post office, 2 fish and chip shops one of which also provides Chinese take away food. There are 3 other takeaways. Auchterarder has an excellent 18 Hole Golf course and Gleneagles Resort Hotel with 3 Championship Golf Courses is 5 mins drive away. There is also an excellent 9 Hole course at nearby Dunning. There is fishing available on the River Earn. There are also several areas for Hill Walking as well as some shorter local walks close to the propoerty The area is also very popular for cyclist and there is parachuting jumping available and Strathallan Airfield just 10 mins drive away. The City of Perth is 15 mins away and Stirling is 25 mins away. Stirling University is located in Bridge of Allan which is 20 mins drive as is Dunblane. The home of Golf St Andrews is approximately 50 mins ddrive away, Glasgow and Edinburgh are approximately 1 hrs drive away. Or catch the train at Gleneagles or Dunblane.
