Retired Royal Guard Central London Walk
I invite you to join me to see Royal palaces and other iconic royal sites, hear personal stories of my experiences with members of the Royal Family and even get to see a piece of Prince William's and Kate's wedding cake! We will start at Trafalgar Square and hear about its history and then move on to see the pomp and pageantry of the Changing of the Queen's Life Guard. We then walk along The Mall to St James' Palace and Clarence House where I will tell you tales of Princes William and Harry the night before William's wedding. Next is a short walk to Buckingham Palace where you will have more opportunities to take photos and hear stories of the Royal household. We then walk into picturesque St James' Park where there is a chance to pause (kiosk available for drinks) and look at gifts presented to me by members of the Royal family. On the way to Parliament Square I will tell you all about the Palace of Westminster (Houses of Parliament and Big Ben). The final part of the walk takes us along Whitehall, past Downing Street (home of the Prime Minister) and then to the spot where King Charles 1st was executed. We will finish back at Trafalgar Square

Hidden Pubs of London
Join us for a 3hr historical stumble down the "street of shame". Starting in the shadow of the iconic St.Paul's cathedral, we explore the tiny backstreets and rambling courtyards the ancient City of London is famous for. We follow in the drunken footsteps of literary greats including Dickens, Shakespeare, Pepys & Johnson whilst pausing for a drink in at least 4 of the most historic pubs dating as far back as the 1500's. From discovering art nouveau gems to glamorous Victorian gin palaces we enjoy a variety of pub styles and breweries along the way. It's not a prescriptive tour, so you choose & pay for your drinks along the way. We're here to offer recommendations, and you can often "sip before you sup" with a few tasters on request from the bars along the way. This allows you to indulge as much or as little as you desire! Non-drinkers can soak up the history, and wine & gin-lovers are also well catered for. We usually finish up on the edge of Covent Garden perfect for theatre-land, restaurants and of course more pubs including one that claims to be the most haunted in London!
Other things to note
Guests are recommended to be over 18 years of age to enjoy the walk at its best. Anyone lucky enough to look under 25 years of age should bring photo ID.
N.B. We have a small number of hosts running these walks so you might be meeting up with Chris, Mark, Wil or others

A Secret Tour - Explore Hidden London with an Urban Planner
London is only truly experienced when you venture off the well-worn tourist track so that you can see, hear and feel the place the same way a local does. Only then will you get close to the true essence, to the true heart, to the very fabric of the place you are in and have an experience like no other.
We'll leave the famous main sights to the side and are going to peek behind the scenes of glitzy mainstream London away from the tourist areas.
We'll see local communities, walk along an exotic street market and discover urban oddities. I am looking forward to sharing my knowledge about London's modern urban history, about its current problems and future developments. My secret London tour will turn you into a proper Londoner for one afternoon.
Also, there's a nice break at a market where we can grab some lunch (not included in the price).
I am very much looking forward to having you on my London safari. Let me take you by the hand and lead you through the streets of London, show you something to make you change your mind.
Fabian
Other things to note
We start at 10.30h in Paddington and finish at 16.30h near Canada Water.
Have as little bags/rucksacks with you as possible.
We're going to use public transport.
Please note: The tour might finish 15 mins late if traffic is slow.
Beatles 'In My Life' Walk of London
So 'get back' with Richard to the place where the opening scenes for A Hard Day's Night were filmed
the restaurant featured in Help!
the former Apple Shop which had the psychedelic mural painted on the wall
the registry office where two of the Beatles were married
the apartment immortalised by Ringo, John and Yoko where the infamous "Two Virgins" picture was taken
we'll also see the house where Paul lived with Jane Asher. Those were the days ... for it was in that house that John and Paul wrote I Want To Hold Your Hand and Paul dreamed the tune of Yesterday.
And for a grand finale - the legendary Abbey Road studios and crosswalk, where you can pose for a picture just as the Beatles did on their famous album cover.
Guided by Richard Porter - who won the 'Beatles Brain of Britain' competition two years running.
Other things to note
The tour is mainly walking - but we stop every few hundred metres, for me to tell the stories of the Beatles places
Indomitable Women of Marylebone
We leave Bakers Street tube taking the path of the Tyburn subterranean river winding down Marylebone High street and through the streets of Marylebone.
Unlike other tours my focus is on the stories of the women who lived here. From the gentrified ladies whose eccentricity paved the way for those who followed to the call girls who brought a government down.
We stop midway at a cafe which has been there since 1901 and enjoy the quirkiness of the ambiance for 20 mins before continuing.
Walking for 2hrs 30 to 3hrs we finish at Marble Arch and with Oxford Street lights for Christmas it is a beautiful finish to a fascinating area.
With laughter and fun and a guided walk that shows off the best of what Marylebone has to offer.
Cinematic Style Private Photo shoot
Ever dreamed about having your own personal photographer in London? Whether you are a seasoned model or a camera-shy novice, I will make you look like a professional model by the end of this shoot.
This experience is the only one on AirBnB offering Cinematic Style high end personal portraits in this price range. This is not a simple photowalk. The focus in this experience is to capture moments that will bring out the model within you.
What sets this experience this apart from others is:
- Your photoshoot is conducted by an experienced portrait photographer with over six years of experience. This is not like other experiences which are conducted by influencers or guides.
- This a high end fully customized portrait shoot. After understanding your style and your needs, we will discuss locations that will be unique to you. Unlike other experiences, you will not be limited to a set route in London.
- The portraits you will get at the end of the shoot will be shot in Cinematic or Editorial style. This means your photos will look like a work of art you can print and place on your wall or use on your social media to promote your business.
If you would like to use this experience for event photography or specific business needs, I would be more than happy to cater to your unique needs. Please feel free to directly message me and we can plan a shoot together.

The art of Indian homecooking
Don’t let COVID-19 stop you from travelling to India. Find it right here in my little home in London.
So far, I have hosted over 500 guests from all around the world (over 25 countries). I have celebrated birthdays with them, shared beautiful conversations and unforgettable moments with them.
It will be a small group, so we will all do the cooking together, like a bunch of friends in an Indian kitchen!
INTRODUCTION TO SPICES
We will learn about ‘Garam Masala’. And no, it’s not just “curry powder”. It’s the basis of understanding individual spices. I will teach you how to blend them to *your* taste. We will create a blend together!
INTRODUCTION TO CURRY
A basic (yet full of flavour) curry lesson, and here I will teach you how this basic recipe can turn from a healthy weekday meal into a weekend feast.
MAGIC OF THE INDIAN KITCHEN
We will learn about making homemade things like yoghurt, or paneer, or ghee (it’s much better/cheaper than buying it off the shelf AND IT IS MAGIC). I will also show you a magic trick of how to make amazing rice.
THE FEAST
We will feast on what we cook!
YOU WILL ALSO RECEIVE A HANDOUT OF THE DAY’S LESSONS. No time for note-taking, as you’ll be busy cooking, tasting, eating and talking!
Remember, this is all about learning that we Indians do eat Indian food regularly, so it’s obviously not as complicated as you think it is.
Discover London's Canals by Kayak
When you arrive at The Pirate Castle, you'll meet your instructor guide and be given a buoyancy aid to put on. We'll then give a short safety talk and show you the basics on how to use your paddle and control your kayak.
You'll get into your boat (we'll help if you're wobbly!) and once everyone in the group's on the water we'll practise some basic paddle strokes before heading off on a gentle tour that weaves along the prettiest stretch of the Regent's Canal towards London Zoo, then back to Camden's famous lock and The Pirate Castle.
This experience is 1.5 hours long (including kitting up/briefings). All tours depart from/return to The Pirate Castle. The pace and distance travelled will vary for each tour as your instructor guide needs to keep all members of the group together for safety. Novices and more experienced paddlers welcome!
Our kayaks are suitable for weights up to 110Kg. Canoes are available for paddlers up to 300Kg or two people wishing to paddle together.
Please wear something comfy for kayaking that you don't mind getting splashed. You must also need wear suitable footwear (old trainers or securely fitting sandals). NO SWIMWEAR, FLIP-FLOPS or CROCS!
Kayaking is a watersport, so we'll go ahead even if it's raining. We only cancel tours in the event of thunder and lightning due to potential risks, in which case we'll discuss available options.
The Vegan Taxidermist
Two English classics come together in this workshop and teatime with London’s leading taxidermist, Suzette Field.
You’ll learn the art and science of preparing, preserving, and mounting—all the basics of taxidermy. Then, you’ll try it yourself (don’t worry, all the subjects have been ethically sourced—reptile food, pest control or roadkill). Choose to leave your handiwork au naturel or dress it up to create a souvenir worthy of a prime spot on your mantlepiece.
Students will have a choice between mouse, rat, guinea pig or mole.
COVID-19 UPDATE - Classes are now running and are Covid-19 secure. They are now limited to 2 individuals or 2 groups of people from shared households in order to remain Covid-19 secure. Lunch will also no longer be included until we feel it is safe to do so.
Other things to note
If you live outside the UK, you'll still be able to take your taxidermy creation home with you. We'll provide you with a certificate to show to customs, or mail your souvenir to your home address.

Check out where the Beatles recorded Hey Jude, where the Rolling Stones kicked off their career, the location of Jimi Hendrix's last ever gig and even a pub where The Who got banned for life!
With the help of four conic Historic Pubs, we'll explore Soho's hidden locations, where some of the most famous musicians, artists, performers, playwrights, actors and deep thinkers all lived, worked and played.
Perhaps you'll even fancy a sing along at a pub where Dumbledore got into a punch up?!
We'll also visit the house where Mozart lived - yes, the Mozart - as well as finding out what General Charles De Gaulle, Karl Marx, Casanova, Marilyn Monroe and many more legends did with their time while in Soho.
Experience London like a true local, in the company of true locals, and discover the venues and history hidden to most people.

Explore Harry Potter's London Tour
Join me as we venture into the magical wizarding world of Harry Potter in London!
On this walking tour of London's streets we will watch clips from the movies while I regale you with behind-the-scenes stories of those locations and how they were used in the film series. Our first stop will be the entrance to Diagon Alley, before we pop down to see the Ministry of Magic, and find out which Leaky Cauldron has the best tacos, as well as others I don't want to spoil here.
I will also share some of the strangest, funniest non-HP facts I've learned about London along the way.
We will finish at Borough Market, London's top street food destination, with King's Cross just a separate Tube ride away.
PLEASE be aware the tour is offered in English only, and it is largely story-based, so a better-than-basic conversational grasp of English is essential.
While witches and wizards of all ages are welcome, due to the amount of walking and the content, I more recommend it for ages 11+.
Strictly one person per slot. No exceptions.
Step-free route for wheelchairs available
This London street walking tour is not affiliated with the WB Studio Tour at Watford.
Other things to note
Every person (over 11yo) will need an Oyster card or contactless payment method with at least £2.40.
The tour contains about 90 minutes of brisk walking so make sure little legs are up for that!
Explore backstreets with a historian
This walk follows government guidelines on combating covid to ensure guest safety.
This walk is a History of London and walk through time. We will walk around quiet backstreets from Westminster to Vauxhall discussing subjects as diverse as royal history, finance and British culture. We will visit a Georgian cathedral town and pleasure garden, a Victorian penal port and graveyard, a Bronze Age port and religious site, and a 21st-century city that is still under construction. You will be immersed in different historical periods and will hear about lots of gossip and scandal. This walk actively encourages your participation.
Other things to note
Bring sensible walking shoes and rainwear—this is an all-weather walk. I will provide hand sanitiser.
Occasionally some back streets are blocked off due to filming or local events taking place. When this happens or if guests have a particular interest in the History of the British Monarchy an alternative route/tour is offered which finishes in Trafalgar Square. Please ask if you are interested in this route/tour.
