This is an introduction to the way of training the body and mind utilising physical exercise as a mindfulness meditation. The class is dedicated to developing the basic skills in Shaolin Kung-fu and requisite fitness for further practice of Traditional Shaolin Forms and Sanshou Kickboxing.
The training is intensive comprising of traditional techniques such as the 5 basic stances, 5 basic kicks and Xinyiba fighting skills from the Shaolin Temple combined with calisthenics, flexibility and other fitness drills to develop all round functional fitness and explosive power.
Suitable for beginners and advanced, those interested in martial arts, self defence, fitness and/or those wanting to tone up, lose weight and improve their flexibility.
Other things to note
Where loose comfortable clothing or suitable sports clothes. Suitable trainers such as running shoes and perhaps a spare t-shirt!

I am a British Shaolin disciple and Fitness and Wellbeing professional based in Tokyo. Having studied and taught in the UK, India and China I teach Shaolin kung fu, Qigong, Meditation and Yoga here in Japan. I like to incorporate ancient mindfulness techniques with western sport science to provide a platform for health and fitness of body and mind creating a pathway to Zen.
