Yoga Hike in the Issaquah Alps

First we hike, then we yoga, then we bask in the green forest energy.
We'll start our adventure with a slow and steady ramble through state forest land, passing old mining town remnants, lots of green forest, and a lovely little lake that's a seasonal stop over for many bird species. Depending on the day, there are options to extend the hiking portion if we find ourselves moving quickly, or feeling inspired to stretch our legs further. Expect to spend at least an hour on the hiking portion of the journey.
Eventually, we will find ourselves some space to move through a Vinyasa yoga practice. Vinyasa yoga pairs movement with breath, meaning we can take advantage of the clean, fresh air while we stretch our bodies and quiet our minds.
Other things to note:
-Masks are currently required in this area, please bring your own, or let host know that you would like one to be provided.
-Host will provide small yoga mats to use if desired, no need to bring your own.
-We hike rain or shine so dress for the weather (you'd be surprised how fun it can be to get a little dirty or wet in the forest, bring an open mind and some extra clothes in the car).
-Bring hydration and snacks, footwear good for walking, and you may want bug spray and sunscreen depending on the season. Please contact host with any and all questions!

As a lifetime resident of the gorgeous Pacific Northwest, I have spent thousands of hours and logged hundreds of miles exploring the beautiful natural areas our state has to offer. Through my yoga teacher training, and the teaching experience I've gained since then, I have come to love the experience of yoga in the green, open spaces. I find it adds balance to my physical experience, and also creates a deeper connection with the spiritual experience of nature. I am grateful and excited to combine these passions in this experience and share my big backyard with others!

We will be adventuring within the Tiger Mountain State Forest area, a state park located on an old mining and logging townsite. The forest is covered in miles of inter-connected trails joining various natural and man-left features. Having spent countless hours wandering the many trails in the area, I am able to adapt and tailor each experience to the individuals included. Trails range from wheelchair accessible to 'training for summits' incline.

This experience was just what i was looking for! Sarah was a perfect guide: friendly, attentive, knowledgeable, and helpful. The hike was lovely, and Sarah clearly knew exactly where she was going. The conversation was easy, and she keeps on regular communication before meeting and answers all questions quickly. We started with an easy hike, then did a short yoga flow in a nice area, and finished by hiking back to the car. I totally recommend this experience to others.

Such a cool experience! I absolutely loved getting to see Tiger mountain with the stunning forest and ending the hike with a centering yoga experience. Sarah was an awesome host, trail guide, and yoga instructor. My Seattle trip wouldn’t be complete without this experience. I highly recommend it!!

This was a fabulous way to spend a few hours hiking! From the time of booking the adventure to actually finishing our hike and yoga, Sarah was fabulous to work with. She made it easy to communicate with before the trip and had great conversations while out in the wonderful natural area that makes up the Pacific Northwest. Sarah was able to tailor the hike to the level of experience and endurance of the group. I had an incredible time out in the woods with our small group. I couldn’t recommend Sarah enough. From beginner to experienced hikers and all levels of yoga will find this adventure time well spent.

Sarah has the perfect personality for outdoor activities and people. She was easily able to adapt our itinerary for our skill level and knew exactly where we were going i.e. didn't get us lost! We chatted the entire time and felt completely comfortable in the elements and enjoying the space as the day evolved. We were even able to up the start time to avoid inclement weather. She's a great communicator and is thoughtful with respect to people's time, skill level, and what they hope to get out of the experience.

Sarah was such a GREAT adventure host. Her knowledge of the trails and stories from previous hikes demonstrated her love of the outdoors. The trails she selected for this trip were so diverse there was always something interesting to see. Even though Sarah is casual and comfortable, the outting was thoughtfully planned and flexible to adjust up/down to meet physicality of the group. She's just great to be around!
