Throw Axes like a Viking
Get yourself over to Bath's most exciting new adventure site, Brocks Outdoor Adventures, and get ready to channel your inner Viking. Once you arrive you'll find yourself surrounded by Kelston Roundhill's spectacular countryside. Your friendly host will begin by taking you on a little woodland walk towards the axe targets. They'll go through some quick safety stuff here (we promise it’s not long) and give you a demonstration before you give it a go. You will be using throwing angel axes - these have three edges for you to get in the target. (They look way cooler, which means you look way cooler doing it too!) But don't panic, your hosts also have traditional hatchet axes and throwing knives which you're welcome to try towards the end of your experience. Once you're in full Viking flow, your instructor will take you through some fun games which test your consistency and accuracy. These will eventually lead to Brocks' infamous leadership board game. Will you make the board and manage to beat the top score? Only time will tell... If there is not a time/date that suits you on Airbnb feel free to get in touch to organise one that suits you.
Archery in the tranquil countryside
You will be welcomed by a GB Archery qualified instructor whilst taking in the beautiful views of Kelston Roundhill then taken through our little woodland walk to the Archery range, here you will be shown all you need to know about your bow and arrow and the rules on the range through a safety briefing and demonstration. Now it’s your time to show off your new skills! The instructor will be there throughout your hour-long session to get you shooting like a pro ready for Archery games at the end! You may share the range with another group however we only take two groups at any one time so that you get the most out of your session. In our experience we have found this works well and you are able to go head to head with another team! If there is not a time/date that suits you on Airbnb feel free to get in touch to organise one that suits you.

In this fun introductory class you will get familiar with the potters wheel and learn what it is like to have a go at throwing. On arrival at our Studio, you’ll be warmly welcomed as you join the rest of your group. The workshop begins with a full demonstration of the pot throwing process, given by one of our expert potters. The "Minerva" Vineyard Tour & tasting
Join me at Bath’s Corston Vineyard Estate, just a ten-minute drive from the bustling city centre. Here, we've revitalised what the Romans established in these fields in the Middle Ages, breathing new life into them. There's a palpable sense of history in the air and something truly extraordinary about this terroir. Our tour and tasting experience takes place in the vineyard, home to ten thousand vines planted in 2016. It all starts in the vineyard, where our acclaimed "Minerva" was created. An English Sparkling Wine was honoured with the prestigious Decanter Award in 2023. You'll embark on a journey alongside the wine itself, tasting its evolution from its humble beginnings and youthful vigor to its ultimate destination as a rich, terroir-driven sparkling wine, brimming with character and allure. During the tour, guests will hear about the journey so far and try what the Romans would have tasted in their wine in the Middle Ages.

Experience beehive air therapy in the restorative and soothing atmosphere of our apitherapy house. Relax upon special ‘bee beds’ inside a uniquely constructed building. Then dream, meditate or chat with friends. View the apiary and woodland or browse the bookshelves. Honeybees create an impeccably clean and healthy environment inside a hive using the beneficial properties of wax, honey, propolis and more. The bee hive air permeates up through vents into the apitherapy house. It is relaxing, de-stressing, anti-microbial, anti-fungal, full of negative ions and deliciously fragrant. One can lie down on the beds and be entranced by the gentle hum and whispering of the honeybees below, at the same time benefitting from micro vibrations. Malvern Hills cultural walks - Tolkien trail & Lewis loop
Legendary 20th Century fantasy authors JRR Tolkien and CS Lewis were frequent visitors to the Malvern Hills and their distinctive landscape inspired many features of Middle Earth and Narnia, including the Giant's Cave from the Hobbit and the Victorian gas lamps from The Lion, the Witch & the Wardrobe. You'll choose between 2 different walks, the Tolkien Trail or the Lewis Loop, with both starting and finishing at the same point, the Wyche Cutting on top of the Malvern Hills. The Tolkien trail heads south, following the main ridge of the hills over several impressive peaks to the legendary Giants Cave which provided inspiration for Tolkien's Lord of the Rings prequel the Hobbit. The trail then returns north, with optional stops at the Malvern Hills Hotel and/or the Kettle Sings Cafe before ending where it began. The Lewis loop leads North over the highest point of the Hills at the Worcestershire Beacon summit and then follows Narnia's gas lamps down past St. Ann's Well Cafe and Lewis & Tolkien's favourite pub The Unicorn Inn to Great Malvern. After brief stops at Malvern Priory (with the original gas lamp) & Malvern College (where Lewis was a pupil), the loop follows more gas lamps towards Malvern Wells & back up to the Wyche Cutting where we began. Whichever walk you choose, you'll hear tales about literary legends whilst savouring the most stunning views in the West Midlands.
Oxford University Tour With Alumni
We will start with a whirlwind overview of Oxford as the central player in 1,000 years of British history, and giving guests an understanding of how the sprawling institution operates before embarking on the tour. Navigating down the windy alleyways we will get an insiders take on the little known viewing angles that bring across the drama of the world famous architecture in this city. With striking spires and imposing buildings, we will cover how these influenced Tolkien, C S Lewis, along with Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. We will enter one of the oldest Colleges at Oxford, renowned for its beautiful gardens, before heading into one of the most famous Library's in the world - responsible for over 13 million books. Capping this off we will cover a Harry Potter film site, along with why the most powerful religious figure England has ever seen, was burnt alive in the centre of Oxford, on what is now such a nondescript part of road you could easily miss it. Please note: Colleges and the Library can shut without notice and currently they are available as of August 2021. If this changes on the day we will of course incorporate them - if we are not able to offer any access, we will offer up the option of a full refund.
